Facilities

The School of Communication supports specialized faculties to support a variety of professional development, research, educational and enrichment needs. Seminole Productions is an education auxiliary of the School of Communication. Its facilities include a studio and control room and edit suites. The Media Production program facility in UCD includes a teaching lab, nine edit suites and an equipment checkout room. WFSU is housed at the FSU’s Public Broadcasting Center. The School of Communication arranges to use space in the large television broadcast studios there for special projects, and students also earn supervised practicum credit to work on production teams there.
WVFS, or V89, FSU’s student FM radio station is supported by the Student Government Association and by the School of Communication.
FSU’s Advertising Team, Arrowhead Productions, has a team workroom and office in UCC4100 with MAC workstations, as well as a team office.
The FSU Forensics Team, including speech and debate activities, is partially supported by the Student Government Association, and makes use of four rooms in the UCC4400 suite. The Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication occupies two rooms in its offices on the UCC 4th floor, which provide workspace for the numerous students involved in Center research and instructional projects. The Project Management Center occupies one room in the UCC3100 suite, and space for graduate students supporting the Center’s online certificate program is provided there.   A research lab is located in the UCC4400 suite for use by students and faculty, and also for special presentations. It has one large room for group experiments, survey research, and focus group observation, as well as three small rooms for individual workstations for research studies. Doctoral students have access to shared workstations and a printer in the Kibler Room in the UCC4400 suite. Doctoral students also make use of 10-12 shared offices on the third and fourth floor of UCC.
