We are excited to announce FSU’s 2nd Annual School of Communication Conference to represent your unique voice in communication scholarship. At this event, every idea will be celebrated and contribute to our scholarly conversations.
The 2024 SCOM conference theme is an invitation to represent a unique voice in the digital era as an agent and venue of communication scholarship. We encourage you to ask critical questions and indicate how these questions can be answered. Regardless of your chosen research topic, your academic background, or your level of expertise, this conference is intended to welcome all forms of scholarly curiosity.
Why Submit to the SCOM conference?
The SCOM conference is an opportunity for you to showcase your research, engage in academic dialogue, and build a network with our department’s scholars and peers who are ready to discuss your academic and professional questions. You are more than welcome to submit full papers, research in progress, and/or research proposals.
Unique Voices: Our Central Theme
We know that you already have a lot of great academic questions piled up in your brain. Let us know by putting your questions in words, sentences, and other papers. By focusing on sharing diverse voices, we aim to explore how communication plays a role in overcoming obstacles, building bridges, promoting activism, challenging oppression, and contributing to a more diverse world.
Share Your Voice
Your unique perspectives and questions matter, and your voice deepens and enriches academic discourse. This conference will provide an opportunity to hear others’ viewpoints, share your own experiences, and contribute to a vibrant scholarly community.

Your unique voice will resonate at the SCOM conference and create an avenue for scholarly conversations and networking.
