As a research-oriented institution, Florida State University is committed to preparing the next generation of communication scholars. To that end, our faculty encourages, trains, and collaborates with doctoral students to conduct significant, original research in their areas of expertise. This research may be conducted as a class assignment, as an independent study or research assistantship with a particular professor, in conjunction with an externally funded grant or contract, or just with a small group of like-minded colleagues.
